About the group

Like most things in life this site is a combination of things. For one it's the culmination and evolution of the IDF Armour group that started on Yahoo almost five years ago. Migration to our own Domain has given us the ability to bring more information in an easier to manage way.

This is also the third version of the Cheyl Shiryon site which was the "Shiryon" site on homestead. The purpose of the Cheyl Shiryon site was and is to bring as much information about the history, people and vehicles of the IDF into the public domain. This includes but is not limited to both personal and unit histories, homemade and foreign equipment as well as the tactics developed to employ them.

While having separate domains might seem nice, the information on both sites was becoming  repetitive. The combining of these two sites will allow for more energy if not capital to be focused in one place.

Our objective is to make a place to discuss, research and raise interest in the soldiers, units and equipment of the Israeli Defense Forces from the Mandate period to the present. Feel free to discuss any topic with exception of politics. Political debate is best left for the many dedicated sites and forums on the web. Feel free to discuss just about anything else including adversary equipment. The History sections are the opinions of the authors and are may not represent those of all our members.

A reference site such as this needs the effort of more than a few people to succeed. It also needs the actual information to fill its pages. From the modeling standpoint it needs actual service photos as well as those willing to look and see what makes a particular vehicle different.

As far as the history section we would like to offer any individual or unit the opportunity to post private or unit histories. We will gladly give any person unit or unit asssociation a page on this web site. Please contact us with your histories and unit information. Please remember history forgotten is history likely to be repeated.

The group maintains  a number of sites to further its goals .
